Your first step is to enter a keyword that you would like to research. If your site is centered around home schooling, you can enter that term.
In the next step, related keywords will appear. You will notice that the screen will be divided in half. The related keywords will be on the left side. You can click on one of them to get further keyword results.
For instance, if the term “home school lessons” appears on the right side, you can choose it, and on the right side you may have results such as “home school lesson plans”, “home school science lesson plans”, etc.
When you click one of the terms on the right side, you are adding it to your basket. You can edit your basket later, so feel free to start choosing terms. The terms you add to your basket are the terms you will actually get the WordTracker results for.
When you have finished choosing your terms, you can continue onto Step 4. This is where your results will show up. The first column will contain the keyword that you chose. The next column will show the Keyword Effectiveness Index. This will tell you if WordTracker feels that this is a good keyword to use. The higher the score, the better the word is.
The next column in the results page will display the count, or number of times that word comes up in WordTracker’s database. The next column will show you the estimate for how many times that word will be searched on in the next 24 hours. The last column will show you how many competing pages there are for that particular keyword.
Your best results will be a keyword that is searched for a lot, without many competing pages. It may take a while to narrow down a keyword that fits that category, but with a little time and effort you can find them.
