While being determined is important, do not be so hard on yourself that you become critical of every move you make. Give yourself some room to make mistakes and be flexible with you. That does not mean you can miss goals but it does mean that if you do, you find out how to avoid that from happening again and then get back to business.

How true this rings for me today. For the past several months, I have been in a “brain fog”. A reoccuring sickness that left me unable to concentrate or focus coupled with my husband getting laid off gradually took its toll. While I kept plugging along, it wasn’t until the fog began to lift that I’m finally able to see things more clearly.

However, that time has now past and I’m ready to move on. Instead of getting by during tough times, it is time to tweak or put systems in place. Let’s work together to make our goals a reality. My desire is to help and share my knowledge with you. Let’s get going…

Pricing your products or services appropriately is a challenging part of any home business. You know what you have and what you can do, but do you know how much you should be charging, without putting yourself out of business? Consider these few ideas when you are picking your price points.

First find out what the competition is charging. If they are selling a similar product or service do some research, make some calls, find out what they offer and how much it costs. Now compare their prices with your own. How do they measure up?

Keep in mind that just because someone else is selling for less doesn’t mean you should lower your prices. It is not always a good thing to be the cheapest out there. You might be surprised to know that you can take away a competitor’s business by increasing your value and charging a higher price. One of the biggest secrets of pricing is that people assume a higher price means better quality and more value.

You should look at every angle of your journey as an exciting adventure. When you think of your childhood years, you loved investigating the unknown. Carry this with you as you strive toward success. Anticipate the excitement of each accomplishment – make it a real adventure.

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
    -Andre Gide

“Life is either a great adventure or nothing.”
    -Helen Keller

Being afraid of failure is a normal emotion for every person on the planet. How you get past that fear is the determining factor between failing and succeeding. You can do that by setting realistic goals and then examining those goals on occasion to do any necessary realignment. Above all, believe in yourself and the desire burning within.

As one of my online mentors, Carrie Wilkerson the Barefoot Executive, says “Fail fast and fail often!” The sooner you fail, the sooner you can learn from it and move on!

Here are a few “failure” quotes for you:

“All my successes have been built on my failures.”
    ~ Benjamin Disraeli

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
    ~ Thomas Alva Edison

“Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.”
    ~ Sir Winston Churchill

“There is no failure except in no longer trying. ”
    ~ Elbert Hubbard

While it may take time to learn how to identify ways to avoid obstacles or failures, get into the habit of tackling problems before they arise. Be organized, be ready, be prepared, be proactive!

Start thinking of ways you can be proactive in your business. How can you avoid obstacles or failures in the future? What can you do today? Don’t wait until it happens and you have to fix it-prevent it from happening at all!

Do customers ask you the same questions over and over again? How can you avoid these repetitive questions?  Perhaps you can answer them in your web copy or presentation better. Or create a FAQs page for visitors to view before contacting you.

By being proactive, it will help you avoid wasting precious time in the future on your road to success.
