Question: How do I find creative ways to motivate old customers?
So, you have some old customers lingering out there that need some motivation. We all know how easy it is to get sidetracked when it comes to making our scrapbook albums. Life happens and sometimes people get distracted and need some motivation to help them get back to scrapbooking. Below are some great scrapbook business tips you can use to help motivate your old customers.
- Have an awesome sale on some of your most popular products. Sales are always a great way to get people excited, especially when it’s a sale on something they absolutely love.
- Have a “welcome back” special deal for customers who haven’t bought in over 6 months.
- In a blog post, remind your readers and customers about how excited they were when they first start scrapping.
- Throw out some new, exciting and fresh ideas on your blog and in your newsletter.
- Show a new way to use an “old” item.
- Anytime of the year there are thousands of reasons to create a new album. Motivate your old customers by reminding them that the album doesn’t have to be big. It can be a small book with just a few pictures of a special event or holiday.
- On your blog, talk about how great the latest scrapbooking gadget works and show pics of how you used it.
- If you’re old customers haven’t been to the blog in a while, send them an email and give them a good reason to come visit, like a sale or an awesome new layout.
- Create a how to video demonstrating a new gadget or showing off the latest die cuts you just got in.
Another idea to help motivate old customers is to remind them about how therapeutic scrapbooking is. Sometimes when life has gotten in the way, they NEED to be scrapbooking. Scrapbooking isn’t just a creative outlet. It can really help you mend and heal some hurts or bring back some good memories when you need to be reminded of good times.
When I first started scrapbooking, I remember seeing an album in an idea book of a woman and her three children. Her husband had suddenly left them, and the album she created was a way for her to heal through the hurt and to help her children heal. The first photo on the front cover was one of the 4 of them walking away, with their backs to the camera. They were heading for a new life. As you can see, that image has stuck with me through the years, and it wasn’t even anything personal for me. Imagine how it affected that family and how it helped them heal.
Perhaps your customer is going through something similar or a different painful situation. Be sensitive to their needs and help them get back to scrapbooking!
