It's A New Year – Here's some Review

Uncategorized | 2 comments

I know this year I’m going to break through sales targets and I’m very excited about it. Mostly because I know what I’m giving to people is great information that they can apply to their business right away.

It makes me feel proud!

One thing you may not know about me is that I used to own the site Auction Strategists. I started the website to help others with their online auction business.

I thought this was my calling…

But I did one major thing wrong, and that was to pursue something that wasn’t my passion, I only had the head knowledge as I’ve sold on eBay for many years. Also my hubbie was not all that impressed with the situation at all, he didn’t like me giving away that info.

So I had a major session with my coach Kelly McCausey over the phone. I remember how upset I was that day speaking with Kelly and trying to make sense out of what I was doing.

It was a HUGE effort to update anything in the site, mostly because deep down in my gut I didn’t like selling auctions anymore, and my husband didn’t want me teaching it.

In that conversation with Kelly, Scrap Venture was born

I just didn’t know it yet.

I remember the relief I had when I sold the site over to Jenni Hunt, who is a wonderful expert on all things eBay. (and if you want to learn more about eBay she’s got a great thing going over there.)

The site sold in 2006.

Onto 2007, I started Scrap Venture and still had my other scrapbooking sites going. I have to say that Scrap Venture is finally turning into the resource that I once dreamed of.

I also sold my very last retail store in May 2007. I had 5 . It’s funny, I remember the day I made the decision to sell our business. It was really thriving and our sales were through the roof.

Why did I sell?

It was not my passion. Well there’s lots of other reasons, but the main one remains… Passion.

I just know in my heart that we are all capable of anything in this life. I was never scared about losing the cash flow from sellling everything off, I just jumped in to see where I could make up that income and do it how I want.

I am now planning on growing Scrap Venture to be an amazing free resource for other scrapbook business owners. I’m thrilled with all the great feedback I’ve received, thank you.

I hope this can inspire you to follow the business of your dreams and not let fear dictate to you how you will live.

It’s important to realize that you are capable of many things and it’s my dream to help bring your scrapbook business to life.

Thanks Laurie, sometimes it’s hard to share personal things like this, I just want to be able to put it out there so if anyone is in a hard situation that they may think about it.
