Review: I found Stumble Upon through the thirty-day challenge I was doing. They requested we go to the site and download the tool bar. At first I thought it was just a bunch of junk kind of like a forum or a chat room. Due to the fact they thought it was something we might need and use I went ahead and downloaded it. Once I was signed up and had the toolbar I realized it was much more than what I first thought.
I discovered that Stumble Upon could help me find websites and get me to the best and most current sites. By looking for my interest I could talk with other people who have the same interest and find out what sites they felt gave them the best information.
I also found that when I went to a site I could click on the like or dislike buttons on the toolbar and it would save my preferences. That made it so easy to just go in and find exactly where my site was and at the same talk to other people who enjoyed that site also.
Searching with Stumble Upon is easy too. Its like any other search except it shows you the best sites available for what youre looking for. Plus they have been found and researched by other stumble upon people so the bad ones are pretty much out of the way. Only the good survive.
Stumble Upon has also recently teamed up with EBay, which is a wonderful deal. They share numerous ideas for making your experience with them easy and worthwhile.
They also have what they call StumbleThru. This area allows you to search through a specific domain such as Wikipedia, WordPress, CNN, PBS, government and education sites just to name a few. I was so happy not to have to start all over again if I wanted to go to one of these frequently used sites.
If you want to make your life on the Internet easier I would suggest you try Stumble Upon. Its fast, easy and well worthwhile.
Criticism: My only complaint with Stumble Upon is that it can be used as a chat type place. So you do have some people and situations that come across to you that might not be the type of things you want to be involved in. However, you can easily get away from that type of things if you are not interested.
